Little River Pedestrian Crossing and Multi-Use Trail

Project description

The Little River (DeMamiel Creek) Pedestrian Crossing and Multi-Use Trail created a new approximately 600-metre active transportation connection through a forested setting in Sooke. The project includes a pedestrian bridge over DeMamiel Creek, elevated boardwalk sections and a multi-use trail connecting the Sunriver neighbourhood with nearby schools and Sooke's town centre. The project officially opened in May 2026.

During construction, Earth Works provided precision layout for the path, boardwalk, bridge abutments and anchor bolts, prior to placement of the bridge. The anchor-bolt layout required millimetre-level precision to ensure the bridge structure could be accurately positioned on its supporting foundations.

Following construction, Earth Works completed the final record survey and as-built documentation.
