Barge Landing

South Pender Island, BC

Project Owner: Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure

Project description

Earth Works provided construction surveying and geomatics support for the development of a temporary marine access facility on South Pender Island, working as part of the project construction team.

Earth Works provided precise layout and survey monitoring throughout the marine pile installation, including pile positioning, alignment and field verification. Survey information and field calculations were used to document pile installation and confirm the completed works.

In addition to the marine construction, Earth Works provided construction layout for the access road and barge landing ramp built to MoTI specifications. We also completed volume calculations for the access road and final as-built surveys documenting both the completed access road and installed piles.

Working in a marine environment presented unique challenges for construction surveying, requiring reliable control and precise measurements while coordinating survey work with active marine construction operations.
